Numark presented at this year’s NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants) their latest called the Orbit Controller. Designed as a secondary controller for DJ or producer use, the wireless device is about the size of a handheld video game controller and is made for thumb-triggering. The Orbit has attachments that will allow it to be worn around the neck, a belt, or in other ways that make it easy to access. Though its a low-latency wireless controller, its buttons similar to the Novation Launchpad is not developed for finger-drumming and should be used hand-held. It also features a jogwheel in the middle, midi-mapable like all the buttons in the pad area and the PSP-like buttons on the shoulder. Release dates will be announced soon so better watch out for it.
