Spanning more than 15 cities across the globe, cult urban street fashion label Stussy has finally opened its first flagship store in Singapore, after having previously been available only at specialty stores there. With this, Singapore joins the select list of key cities worldwide to have access to the full range of Stussy products including “Chapter” exclusives and limited edition collections.

In celebration of this landmark opening, the store will release special Singapore-exclusive t-shirts and caps. The t-shirts consist of two designs, the first of which is a Stussy World Tribe Tee with the front sporting famous cities in the world and on the back, famous landmarks in Singapore with 313 taking centre stage for being the new home of Stussy Singapore Chapter. The second design, Stussy Singapore Tribe, focuses on the lion motif which was proudly chosen as a symbol of the Lion City. Both designs will be available in 3 colors. Also included are Stussy Singapore Tribe logo caps that will have 2 colors.

The store is stocked with current designs from the brand including Spring 2013’s collection that features a host of collaborative efforts such as with Japanese streetwear giant Mastermind JAPAN, Herschel, footwear brand Be Positive, Timberland etc.

Stussy evolved from being a simple surfwear company in the 80s into one that is now a staple in the hip hop, skate, surf and hipster scenes. Its phenomenal success, attributed to the appeal of its designs among the youth, spawned the rise of the International Stussy Tribe which consists of DJs, musicians, artists, streetwear influencers alike; all of whom are fans and friends of then owner Shawn Stussy.

The Californian brand maintains a strong international presence without the need for promotional effort and with its reluctance in readily supplying the demands of its products. Stussy exists today, after 30 years, as the leader in cutting edge streetwear.
