On June 21, 2014 the yearly awaited Fête de la Musique, a world music festival which began in France and spread to different countries including the Philippines, will once again bring music to the streets, nook, and crannies of Metro Manila.

This year Fête de la Musique celebrates its 20th year of existence in the Philippines and has chosen the theme “Throwback to ’94” to celebrate this year’s world music festival. Fête de la Musique 2014 boasts of two main stages and 12 pocket stages in Makati, two main stages and five pocket stages in Intramuros, featuring different musicians and bands of different genres. The Blues, Soul, and Funk pocket stage will be held at the H&J Sports Bar and Restaurant at Felipe St. in Makati.

Their line-up include Kosmikskala with Nitoy Adriano, Kala, Chillitees, Ian Lofamia Blues Band, Conscious & the Goodness, Gin Rum N’ Truth, SOJ. Also catch the first and last performance of the Pasay Jazz band composed of Kakoy Legaspi, Wendell Garcia, Nikki Cabardo, and Francis de Veyra who will only perform together for the night. Lourd de Veyra of Radioactive Sago Project will also spin the vinyl together with theBignay Soundsystem.

Fête de la Musique is organized by Alliance Francaise de Manille, the Embassy of France to the Philippines, the Department of Tourism, and B-Side Productions. The Blues, Soul, and Funk stage is brought to you by Mambo Rat Productions and H&J Sports Bar and Restaurant.
