Yes, you can easily check the time on your phone—but there’s something about checking it the old school way, with a simple flick of the wrist, that still makes people love wearing them despite this age of technological convergence.

Perhaps it’s the simplicity and reliability of having the time readily available at a glance, but these days, a big part of it is likely because of the sartorial confidence it lends its wearer. A watch, despite being one of the most personal pieces of jewelry you could wear, is ironically out there, for everyone else to see…and with it goes impressions of your style, taste and preferences.

That said, the opening of Casio Computer Co., Ltd.’s first G-Factory Premium store in the Philippines was something to look forward to—a milestone both for the brand (being only the second store of its kind in the world) and for fans of the beloved watch maker, who simultaneously unveiled its latest collection of premium timepieces.

“With these latest lines of watches, Casio was out to develop timepieces that are virtually indestructible without sacrificing aesthetics and style,” said Kikuo Ibe, the founding father of Casio’s G-SHOCK.

Each timepiece is designed to represent the pinnacle of the popular G-SHOCK series, combining advanced technology with excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail to produce watches that are as tough as they are eye-catching.

The G-SHOCK MRG-G1000 marries the elegance of an analog watch display with a full metal design and complements it with a new hybrid solar-powered timekeeping system to display accurate time anywhere in the world.

The dual coil motor of the MTG-G1000D combined with its GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor time-keeping system creates dependably reliable timepiece that highlights a seamless fusion of design and cutting-edge watch technology.

A more rugged option comes in the form of the GULFMASTER GWN-1000, which, on top of providing you with precise time, is also designed to predict weather changes, is built with triple sensors for measuring direction, atmospheric pressure and altitude as well as temperature.

Equally tough but no less efficient are the GRAVITYMASTER GPW-1000T. The main parts, including the bezel and back of the case are made of lightweight, rust-resistant titanium[1], retaining the toughness and performance of a G-SHOCK watch while weighing approximately 10% less than the GPW-1000, yet maintaining the distinct feel of metal.

And should you find yourself in a situation where extreme exposure to the elements on land are inevitable like in deserts, mud, and other tough environements, trust that the G-SHOCK MUDMASTER GWG-1000 can offer you the features and technology you need for use in harsh land environments.

Putting a premium on design, the OCEANUS OCW-G1000 boasts of hybrid timekeeping system in an elegant all-metal case. The face features dual-curved sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating on both sides for high visibility, and the case has been finished with Sallaz polishing for a lustrous finish.

For those who prefer a more understated design, Casio’s EDIFICE analog watches, EQB-510 and ECB-500 take the traditional style of wristwatches and combine with smartphone technology to allow you to check the time of more than 300 cities worldwide across 40 time zones by sub dial.

“Anchored on our heritage of quality and reliability, these latest additions to the G-SHOCK line offer our customers more options to decide how a timepiece can best complement their lifestyle and what kind of statement they want to make,” ends Atsushi Yamaoka, General Manager of Timepiece Department, Overseas Marketing and Sales Division, Casio Computer Co., Ltd.
