Throughout 2016 we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the MT580, a sneaker that started off as a trail-running shoe but went on to become a canvas for collaboration culture and subsequently reborn as a Japanese streetwear cult favorite. Since 2013, the original MT580 was replaced with the REVlite tech-infused MRT580, making it lighter without changing the design or aesthetics. This year alone saw numerous modern updates to the 580 silhouette along with a reissue of the Made in USA 585 that inspired the original MT580.
However, to cap off the celebratory releases, we have returned to the very essence of the 580 and will be reissuing it in all it’s original Rollbar and Abzorb tech glory. To commemorate the occasion of the original MT580 being brought back into production, we will be releasing a special colorway inspired by our highly coveted M1300JP model.
The MT580XY is an Asia-Pacific region exclusive and will be available from December 22nd onwards.
There will also be a limited release of 580 pairs that will be packaged in a special shoebox. This limited box set release will only be available at select stockists across the Asia-Pacific region.
