ASICS Tiger, the third pillar in the brand giant that is ASICS, celebrated the brand’s longevity and consistent presence in the growing world of streetwear and sneakers with an intimate gathering of family, friends, and fans at the Red Dot Museum in Singapore last April 21.

A leader in sports lifestyle sneakers, ASICS Tiger has been a cult favorite since the rise of the popular GEL-LYTE series in the 1980s, rising again in January 2015 with the world’s new-found fascination with Japanese culture and fashion as ASICS’ heritage and Japanese technology have been at its core since its inception.

At the ASICS Tiger Brand Day, there was an exclusive showcase of the campaigns and collections coming out this 2017, one of which is the cult hit, GEL-KAYANO TRAINER KNIT and GEL-KAYANO TRAINER KNIT MT sneakers which were introduced last February.

On site were over 60 sneakers from the ASICS Tiger Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter 2017 collections featured on display including classic silhouettes like the GEL-LYTE III and GEL-LYTE V sneakers, as well as contemporary favorites like the GEL-RESPECTOR, GEL-MAI, and the new GEL-LYTE KOMACHI, ASICS Tiger’s first women’s-only sneaker.

Along with the upcoming releases, we were also treated to an exclusive peak of the archive of ASICS Tiger’s GEL-LYTE III 25th Anniversary collaboration sneakers which were released through various drops in 2015. Some of our favorites on display were the ASICS Tiger x AFEW GEL LYTE III “Koi”, ASICS Tiger x colette GEL LYTE III “25th Anniversary”, and the ASICS Tiger x Kith x Ronnie Fieg GEL-LYTE III “Homage.”

“The ASICS Tiger Brand Day 2017 is an event that was created with the sneakerheads and street style enthusiasts in mind. Hence, the event showcased the classics, the icons that have been given a contemporary update, such as the recently released GEL-KAYANO TRAINER KNIT, as well as the brand new styles. ASICS Tiger has something for everyone that both seasoned sneakerheads and new fans can appreciate.” said Kenji Oh, ASICS Asia’s Marketing Director.

We couldn’t agree more.
