This fall, PONY once again breaks new ground as it teams up for the first time with a Philippine-based street apparel brand, Don’t Blame The Kids (DBTK), for a limited edition collection that promises to shake up the local streetwear scene.

I remember meeting Emil (then known as ‘Million’) and Vince for the first time way back in 2009 when we were all kids, hustling and getting hustled. They used to sell sneakers out the back of their little Honda Jazz and smuggle them past security into Trinoma one by one to do meet-ups. My friend and I saw them regularly like what, every month? Coz a month was what it took to save enough dough for new kicks.

It was a crazy time for sneakers and throughout the years, grew even crazier, with various sellers fizzling out and the brothers closing up shop. That is, until 2012, when they finally found their passion.

Don’t Blame The Kids has come a long way since its inception back in 2012. What started out as an outlet for creative expression and an aspiration to challenge the status quo, Don’t Blame The Kids quickly cultivated a strong underground following.

“Giving birth to a brand was the most surreal experience.” explains Emil. “We were scared of getting rejected but as youngblood entrepreneurs, we were also hopeful and willing to bet our lives on it. Five years in, and now to be the first Filipino streetwear brand to collaborate with a global sneaker label and participate in such a huge movement, it’s unbelievable for us.”

“Our collaboration with PONY will not only allow us to showcase Filipino ingenuity and creativity on an international scale, but at the same time show the world, especially the youth, how dreams can materialize if you work hard for them”, says Vince Javier, co-founder and creative director behind Don’t Blame The Kids.

This collaboration is only the beginning. If there’s one thing we’re a hundred percent sure about, it isn’t just that you shouldn’t blame the kids, but that you can’t stop them either.

Limited quantity pre-selling packs come with an exclusive PONY x DBTK design tee and nylon drawstring bag with logo.
