It’s been a couple of years since rapper Jaden Smith released something full-length, with ‘SYRE’ in 2017, and a few EPs and mixtapes in between (namely The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story and ERYS IS COMING). Now, we’re listening to ERYS.
Wildly emotional and raw, ERYS is a reflection of Jaden’s growth from his first album and ERYS, as Jaden has mentioned in previous interviews, doesn’t give a f•ck. In order, the tracks melt into each other–one after the other–and speaks a narrative that’s both sensitive and personal, and follows no rules.
The album features voices such as his sister Willow Smith (who regularly lends her vocals to her brother’s projects), Tyler The Creator, A$AP Rocky, and KiD CuDi, who Jaden counts as one of his biggest inspirations and idols.
