Luzon’s enhanced community quarantine is affecting millions of Filipinos’ livelihoods, including those of video production crew members in the ad industry working under a no-shoot, no pay scheme. Aidvertising, in collaboration with Lakihan Mo Logo, is an online fundraising initiative working towards a target of PHP500,000 to be donated to 290 industry workers left in a precarious financial situation under lockdown. Having accumulated over PHP200,000 in donations already, Aidvertising will be holding an online concert this Friday, April 24, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM via Soupstar Music’s official Facebook page to help reach their goal.

Aidvertising is initiated by several concerned advertising production professionals hoping to lend a helping hand to their industry’s most vulnerable workers. Powered by Soupstar Music, Adobo Magazine, and Homonym, the online fundraiser brings together various performers from the industry to perform commercial jingles as well as some original songs and covers by request of its audience. Requests will be made on a donate-what-you-can basis.

The lineup includes Halik ni Gringo, Aidon, JP Cuison, Pasok mga Bwitre, Chino Jayme and Franco Chan, Nikka and Hannah, Straight8, Hoy Sam!, Mike Constantino with special guests Bayang Barrios with Mike Villegas. These acts will be performing iconic jingles like “Kintab to the Max Starwax,” “Close Up (Just A Smile)” and “May RiteMED Ba Nito?”

“These jingles are a reminder of the hard work and creativity at the heart of the advertising industry,” the group shares in a statement. “In our work, every person on set matters and it is at a time like this when we need to come together to extend help to the most vulnerable in our industry.”

Make sure to tune in to Aidvertising’s online fundraising concert this Friday, April 24 from 6:00 Pm to 8:00 PM. For further details and mechanics, check out the photos above.
