Most people have an inner angst bubbling inside them, and listening to St. Vincent is like a cathartic experience of releasing these intense emotions into the world without the fear of any repercussions.
While she’s known to most for lending her songs Roslyn and The Antidote in The Twilight series of movies, her complete creative control of her most recent album solidified her vision to release more music to her fans while staying true to herself.
All Born Screaming epitomizes her journey as an artist, showcasing a fierce determination to portray her artistic craft in pursuit of self-expression. In the album’s 10 tracks, she flawlessly captures that visceral sound with her powerful vocals and killer guitar riffs, which you can witness in-person early next year at The Filinvest Tent in Alabang on the 8th of January.
We had a lovely opportunity talking to the prolific rock queen over a quick Zoom call last month, talking about her seventh album and how she has managed to offer a more authentic version of herself through her songs.
“The album was made during a time of grief. This made me realize that life is short and whatever we make must be the best and most radical version, that’s why the most radical thing to do is to produce the album myself.”
Finding solace during times alone in the studio, she dedicated herself to creating a work that’s equal parts rock, pummeling, ecstatic, rave, and raw expression.
The inspiration for the album’s sound lies in sounding more like herself yet different, trying to avoid treading the same waters. Her goal was to elevate her work to new heights, infusing it with more intensity and romance than ever.
GA tickets are still up for grabs online for Php 4,995, and a huge shoutout to Karpos for starting 2025 with what’s sure to be an absolute banger!
