As Fête de la Musique’s celebration rolls on, we now look ahead to another exciting Fête tradition: the pocket stages. Whether with your circle of friends or on a solo mission, you’re sure to discover something new.
In this round of CLAVEL Picks, we’ve narrowed down some must-watch stages scattered around Poblacion for this Friday’s basket of festivities.
Blues Soul Funk Stage | H&J Sports Bar & Restaurant
For some people, starting their Pobcrawl at 3PM can sound like a nightmare. For Fête de la Musique however, you’d best be sure to pace yourself right by starting off with some light drinks like a beer or two. Couple this with some soul and blues at H&J Sports Bar, then you’ll ease into the mindset that you’re in for a long yet fun night ahead.
Reggae Stage | Kashmir Live
Next stop is a bit of a walk but once you reach Kashmir, you’re in for a cultural treat with Reggae beats while you munch on some Indian and Mexican treats. This offers a much different experience apart from the more rock-centric vibe that the venue usually houses, along with a rare sunset setting of Poblacion – signalling the opening of more stages around the area.
Rabbit Hole Stage | Ugly Duck
From new wave to the newest players in the hiphop scene today, our next stop would be taking us to Ugly Duck. The walk up the flights of stairs would be worth it as you’ll get to see the stars of the future drop some bars while enjoying a good rooftop view.
Bass Stage | 88wok
We’ll turn it up with our next stop as we go clubbing nearby at 88wok, where dimsum and noodles meet techno beats that would get our bodies moving along during the peak of the night. If you feel like this stage is more of your tempo, more of these can be found at Electric Sala and Mono by Phono, so you can recharge at 88wok first and then go on a little sidequest before we get back into things.
Big House PH & AtLast Stage | Babaganoosh
After roaming around a few stages during your Pobcrawl, a stopover with some good Mediterranean food matched with rising and rockin’ bands is a good way to get the vibe going on. For this stage’s line-up, it’s guaranteed to be a shot in the arm to get you past the night and you might even discover some new tracks that’ll make your monthly playlist dump.
House of Nations Stage | Transit 5915
For your last stop, you can party till early morning with some international flavors of house music as a way to cap off Fête’s Poblacion leg of festivities. Washing out all the carbs and alcohol intake for the past *checks the time* 12 hours, you muster all the remaining energy in your legs as you wait for the sun to rise.
