Fresh off an award-studded season and cementing himself in NBA’s history books, Oklahoma City Thunder’s premier shooting star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been making a lot of moves both on and off the basketball court.
Also known for his pre-game fits before balling out, it’s no question that Converse themselves appointed the superstar as their Creative Director of Basketball. Earlier this month, we witnessed the global launch of his first signature shoe: the SHAI 001.
Not just satisfied with making an impact on the court, this signature silhouette of his is a guaranteed head turner with its unique sleek design and minimal design approach with its three colorways inspired by SGA’s key family members.
We shot the SHAI 001s in MASI BLUE, an ode to his brother Thomasi. Fit whether for the court or the streets, its cool baby blue reflects not only the winter climate of their hometown in Toronto, but also how Shai manages to keep composed during the heat of every game.
