DC Shoes received The Skateboard Mag’s award for “Best Shoe Team” in 2014, recognizing their achievements throughout year. A celebratory “Year in Review” video announcing DC as the winner released on TheBerrics.com, and additional content can be found in The Skateboard Mag, issue #132, available on newsstands.

“We’re super stoked to receive this award,” says Jeff Taylor, Senior Vice President of Global Brand and Marketing, DC Shoes. “The DC team is as diverse as it is strong and every single rider contributes in their own way. They’re one of our greatest assets and it’s great to see them recognized as such.”

DC’s skaters dominated the contest circuit in 2014, beginning with Nyjah Huston’s win at the Tampa Pro last March. Huston went on to top the podium at every Street League Skateboarding event throughout the summer, an unprecedented accomplishment that culminated in the final seconds of the SLS Super Crown Championship in August for a complete sweep of the series.

The team made its mark on the X Games last June with wins in several categories. Tyson Bowerbank continued his rise through the ranks with a gold medal at the X Games Am Contest, while Mikey Taylor took home the Real Street Fan Favorite title. Huston dominated the Street course and Tom Schaar made jaws drop in the Big Air final, as both pros added to their collection of gold medals.

Several DC skaters collected prestigious wins at core events throughout 2014, including Cody Cepeda (Battle at the Berrics 7), Evan Smith (Extreme Barcelona, “King of the Road” MVP), Mike Mo Capaldi (ESPN Game of SKATE), Tristan Funkhouser (Texas Skate Jam Bowl), Jagger Eaton (Tampa Am), Felipe Gustavo (Run and Gun) and Madars Apse (Kingpin’s European Skater of the Year). With three video parts and extensive magazine coverage, Wes Kramer claimed Thrasher Magazine’s iconic Skater of the Year award to close out 2014 on a high note for DC skateboarding.

The Primer Group of Companies, Asia’s next retail giant, is the exclusive distributor of DC in the Philippines.
