Come alive and bask in the glow at sundown at the Ateneo Junior Marketing Association’s kick-off party for academic year 2015-2016, AJMA Launch!
AJMA Launch, one of the biggest parties that the college scene has to offer, aims to welcome the organization’s members, new and old alike, and introduce its theme and lineup of events for the year through a night of crazy fun, solid beats, and good vibes. This does not mean that it is a purely internal event focused on the members alone; in fact, targeting those outside of the organization as well as the Ateneo is equally as important. AJMA Launch, being one of the first projects of the year, provides outsiders a good look at what the organization has up its sleeve, giving them reasons to support AJMA’s upcoming projects and initiatives. AJMA Launch also serves as an avenue for AJMA’s yearly “big reveal”, more often than not the year’s theme that sets the tone going forward. Lastly, the event is still like any other party – a chance to relax, bond with one’s friends, and live in the moment, even just for a night. It celebrates the upcoming year and all that is yet to come.
“AJMA is probably known for Shindig, the biggest Ateneo college party, but not far behind is AJMA Launch. This project gives you that ‘wow I’m a part of this cool thing and it’s only just the beginning!’ feeling that gets you so pumped up for what’s to come,” said Shawn Lee, one of this year’s project heads. Last year’s AJMA Launch, reminiscent of an epic carnival show, saw a record number of attendees that filled Metro Tent up. DJs Noel Bugia, Rammy Bitong, and Carlo Atendido brought the house down with their mixes, further cementing the night as one for the books. However, despite the craziness of last year’s Launch, this year’s Miami-themed party will surely be even bigger and better, due in part to the lineup of DJs, namely Martin Pulgar and Aryan Magat with MC Marga On The Mic, the insane installations to be seen at the event itself, and the fact that AJMA is celebrating its silver anniversary.
Academic year 2015-2016 marks the Ateneo Junior Marketing Association’s 25th year since its founding. The organization has been delivering the biggest, most entertaining, and most relevant events both in and out of the Ateneo since 1990, and this year makes no difference. As stated by Paolo Ereneta, co-project head of the party, “The Ateneo Junior Marketing Association is on its 25th year and it is only appropriate that we kick things off with the best AJMA Launch to date.”
