Karpos is once again cooking up an entire new experience for music enthusiasts not just in the country, but all over the world. Coming from the same organizers that have brought you Wanderland, another festival on such a grand scale is approaching our doorstep very soon.
Enter ASIYA, an Asian Music Festival and Conference. A platform for Asian artists to not just connect to a wider audience, but a way to conjure conversations with industry professionals and global delegates on the ever changing international music scene. What’s essentially not just another addition to the growing Karpos roster of events, this weekend extraordinaire is sure to offer something uniquely special – a strengthening of the notion that Asia is a melting pot of culture that could further be steered through the universal medium of music.
The celebration kicks off with the synth-pop tandem of Hyukoh and Sunset Rollercoaster as the main event of Day 1, in addition to a star-studded line-up of different acts from across Asia such as the Malaysian retro-infused dreampop band – babychair; passion-driven singer / songwriter from Thailand – Numcha; South Korean R&B-pop soloist – Colde; and Japanese electropop prodigy – Imase. Rounding out the bunch, local bands such as UDD, Urbandub, and Flu, along with solo acts like Reese Lansangan and Gabba will also captivate the global audience with some Filipino flavored melodies.
Similar to the first day, Day 2 will offer a plethora of rising-to-established Asian acts in the form of eclectic / alternative Korean band – Balming Tiger; bedroom pop artists from Singapore and Japan respectively – Shye and Salasa; and Taiwanese singer 9m88 who has been able to tell an added layer of story through the varying concepts and intense visuals of her music videos.
The cherry on top to top off Day 2 and the entire festival would be the nation’s girl group BINI as they bring their international appeal and recognition to the stage. Joining them would be household OPM staples that have captured our hearts and souls with their generation-defining songs – Juan Karlos and Zild, as well as other Pinoy acts that both make us feel warm and cozy despite having different genres – Ysanygo and Jose Miguel.
