Rooted & Rising is a social initiative and collective of local creatives and entrepreneurs that have been shaped and inspired by their lives and experiences in the Philippines, who in turn, aim to create sustainable ways and outlets to give back to those in need, to manifest change and action in the youth and people and also to maintain a sense of connection and community through their events, projects and outreach. Rooted together as one through the cultural ties, through our spirits, passions, and families to uplift one another to continue Rising beyond the obstacles in order to reach new heights and also to raise awareness for those who’s voices cannot be heard. If you Know Your Roots, you Know Your Self., But if you have No Roots, then there is No Self.
For their first Rooted & Rising Benefit Concert for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda specifically in Panay, Northern Cebu, Coron, and Easter Samar, is happening on the 22nd of November from 6pm to 2am at Central BBQ Sheridan Branch in Pasig, City. It will be a night of great music from some of Manila’s best musicians, such as DJ Pasta Groove, Enak (Niki Cabardo & Allen Umali), Chocolate Grass, Wilderness, and Salamin (more TBA), LIVE ART from some of Manila’s best street artists and designers such as Dee Jae Pa’este, Piaget Martelino, Anjo Balorda, PSP Crew (Egg Fiasco, Trip, Quiccs, Chill, Exld), Vinyl On Vinyl, and Archie Geotina (more TBA) ,plus food and drinks from various Manila food trucks.
