While many of us are able to continue working from home during this extended community quarantine, a lot of people don’t have the same luxury. This lockdown is a severely rough time for household breadwinners, rendering some jobless and unable to provide for their families. But thankfully, we’ve been seeing a number of government projects, NGOs, and goodhearted citizens doing everything they can to keep our fellow Filipinos from going hungry. Putting a hot meal on a family’s table is as easy as clicking a button, and below are just some names with some ways that’ll help you do exactly that.

Human Nature

Local beauty brand Human Nature’s #GoodnessRising initiative has donated more than two thousand food packs to families in Payatas, Gawad Kalinga, and other communities in need. By going to their website, you can find several donation options, with the minimum amount of one food pack costing PHP400.

Alagang Kapatid Foundation

TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation is looking for cash donations that will go to food packs, hygiene kits, and care packages for those in need. You can directly donate to the foundation via PayMaya, along with several other partner foundations and causes.

Pagasa

People for Accountable Governance and Sustainable Action (PAGASA) has helped thousands of families under lockdown through survival packs. Through a minimum donation of PHP700, you can ensure that a family eats for an entire week. You can learn more about how to donate and where exactly the money is going via their official Facebook page.

Project PEARLS

Project PEARLS aims to help the poorest children and their families through education, nutrition, healthcare, empowerment, and livelihood. Under the current pandemic, the NGO is looking for cash donations that can help them provide at least one meal every day for those that need it. You can donate here.

Protect Lolo’t Lola

In a time like this, let’s not forget our lolos and lolas–one of the most vulnerable age groups to the COVID-19 crisis. The office of Senator Risa Hontiveros is in partnership with the Coalition of Services of the Elderly (COSE) to distribute immunopacks with vitamins, milk, food supplies, face masks, and more to be distributed to the elderly in low-income communities. You can find the details for donation here.

cure covid

The Citizens’ Urgent Response to End COVID-19 is a people’s initiative comprised of various communities and sectors that aims to educate and assist those in need during the pandemic. The initiative is comprised of several working food drives through the different organizations that have joined cure covid, with one such drive looking for cash and in-kind donations to help them feed those that need assistance.

There are many different people lending a much needed helping hand during this crisis. You can also check out these creatives and brands that need donations to help fight the pandemic through various means, as well as visit this site to see what other organizations need your help.
