In the pulse of the local music scene, where every rhythm and rhyme tells a story, comes a collective who’s doing the most. Meet 25hearts, an underground boyband, consisting of Kyleaux, NeverPaco, EJ, Noir, Bankyu, Wanyu, K1ko, and Nix, all with their niche individual skills, who come together to redefine the game.

Origin Story

The origin of the collective started all the way in the pandemic when Kyleaux and Neverpaco first met each other through a discord server. After bonding and getting to know each other through those voice chats, they knew immediately that they wanted to be able to make music together. Thus, the birth of West End, the first of many collaborative songs to come. The members Wanyu, EJ, K1ko, Bankyu, Noir, and Nix later on joined as the collective started creating connections through different gigs and discoveries on different music outlets such as Soundcloud.

Inspirations

As a collective and underground group, 25hearts found inspirations for their styles and sounds from artists such as Brockhampton, Kartell’em, West Side Gunn, Smino, Concrete Boys, and most notably, Kindred, who have recently signed the collective under their label.

“Nung una, it was hard to believe. Kung tutuusin, nasa kwarto lang kami gumagawa ng mga kanta, pawis na pawis, walang aircon gumagawa ng mga kanta, ngayon lahat na ng equipment na we only dreamed of using, nagagamit na namin.” The collective gives appreciation to Kindred Music Label, for giving a group of bedroom music makers the chance to fulfill their dream of making a dent in the industry a reality.

25hearts is a group that comprises individuals with niche and unique skills. Despite the differences, it is through this that they find themselves in their element. Whether it’s singing/songwriting or rapping skills from Bankyu, NeverPaco, Nix, EJ and Kyleaux, producing from K1ko and Noir, or creative directing from Wanyu and K1ko, everything runs smoothly for the rising stars as they create magic through the songs we know and love.

“We make our songs based on our experiences. Minsan may sides tungkol sa love, tungkol sa angas or whatever we can pour our feelings into.”

Despite the earlier release of Naga Freestyle, the collective gives a nod to Hearts being their first official project as it was the first time that they felt that they were able to combine all their creative ‘powers’ and hearts into one song.

Creative Differences

Through all the beauty that comes into the creative process of the bangers they come out with, a little bit of madness comes into play to ensure its success. Recalling an incident that they had previously, the group mentioned that at some point, they felt complacent about the place that they were in and lost sight of the strive to be able to create something amazing through the opportunity that they had. The question “Para saan pa ginagawa natin?” came into play often as they realized that they hadn’t gotten to the extent of what they wanted to be able to accomplish. Compromise and hearing each other out was the solution that they found in order to keep doing what they’re doing and grow a better bond that keeps the group in sync with the vision that they share, creating bangers that everyone can enjoy.

What’s Cooking?

While being hot and on the rise, 25hearts had already claimed some notable accolades and achievements under their belts such as performing on stages like Fete De La Musique and Good Old Days 4. When talking about the past performances, they stated that they were stages that they had always dreamt of being able to perform in throughout years of just watching in the audience.

As for the aspirations and goals for the collective, 25hearts aims to be able to soon release a mixtape/album in the following year. More notably, they want to reach higher heights and be able to inspire people to pursue doing whatever it is that their hearts desire.

Nix and Bankyu proudly say, “I feel like we’re a group that you can really say na we’re rising, and we want to keep rising. Since nag start kami underground, gusto namin sumikat di lang sa underground, pati rin sa mainstream. Gusto rin namin mapakita na kaya namin both sa underground, pati rin sa mainstream.”

With a message for their loyal and new potential audiences, 25hearts wants to tell them that we’re just real people and do what we can to inspire people, just keep doing what you wanna keep doing, just go for it.

Sauna

As the collective continues to solidify their place in the local music scene with their innovative sound and authentic storytelling, 25hearts brings the heat once again with their third official release, Sauna. Different from Hearts, showing their love and solid bond for each other, this release aims to show their angas and that they’re a group that can’t be taken for granted. As fans eagerly anticipate what’s next, Sauna serves as a powerful reminder of the collective’s talent and dedication to making an impact in the local music scene, doing the most one song at a time. Whether you’re seeing them for the first time in a local gig, or discovering them on shuffle, it’s undeniable that 25hearts is on the rise, and we’re all here to witness it.
