Waiian, also known by his real name Pablo, has always walked the line between creative chaos and self-awareness. Long before the stages and the studio, he was just a kid hitting up B-Side and skate events, soaking up the scene, and letting it plant seeds in his head. Raised in a creative household with a fashion designer mom and a steady diet of cartoons, his worldview was shaped by bold visuals and even bolder characters. It’s no surprise that he compares himself to Spongebob and Luffy — animated optimists charging through life’s mess with heart.

But life didn’t always move at cartoon speed. College didn’t go as planned and he said “fuck this shit” and bet on himself — full-time. What started as two personas (Pablo and Waiian) eventually blended into one voice: honest, introspective, and not afraid to stand out. Now 27, he understands the pressure of being in the public eye — celebrated one moment, misunderstood the next. Still, he keeps it moving, always trying to stay true without getting caught in the trap of becoming a product of the industry.

Giving Out BACKSHOTS

Waiian’s latest album BACKSHOTS is a raw, self-aware body of work that drops the smoke and mirrors. Compared to the two-year-long grind behind his previous album WEEYAT?, BACKSHOTS came together in just three months — a burst of clarity and confidence that surprised even him. Where WEEYAT? felt like a heavy emotional unload, BACKSHOTS is lighter in tone but sharper in intent. Think of it like a phoenix that doesn’t wait for the fire to die down — it just rises anyway.

The standout track, “MAN IN THE MERROR,” anchors the album with a quiet punch. It’s reflective, real, and sets the tone for the rest of the project. Every bar in BACKSHOTS carries the weight of premeditated thought, but the delivery stays relaxed — like someone who’s done the work and isn’t afraid to speak on it. He’s not trying to be deep for the sake of it. He’s just telling his story the easiest way he knows how.

What’s Next for Pablo/Waiian

With a new studio on the rise and momentum picking up, Waiian is far from done. His journey is a reminder that growth doesn’t always come loud — sometimes it’s subtle, awkward, and full of second guesses. But as long as the music is honest, he’s good. He’s not chasing clout, but finding connections — the kind that go beyond likes and streams.

In a scene where everyone’s playing a role, Waiian’s just trying to stay real. It’s not about being perfect, just being present. And maybe that’s the real flex after all.
